The world spins around

As cuts of the heart bleed,
Pushing their sorrow out
And into the unforgiving world,
The world spins around.

As lovers combine themselves,
Forgetting everything for one moment
Together under the kindest sun,
The world spins around.

As tokes of smoke lift up,
Pomising happy endings
In even the harshest worlds,
The world spins around.

As teenage mother cries
Over not mistaken, but unplanned life
Living inside her fragile body,
The world spins around.

As soldier dies for lusting country
Giving life for other's freedom,
Now restrained within conformity,
The world spins around.

As life ends for many,
And life begins for several more,
We enter and escape this caged earth,
The world spins around.

  1. I like that your tone changes within each separate stanza. My favorite has to be the "kindest sun" one. I know that the majority of this is cynical, but in this I seem to like the happier parts. I think it's the contrast that does it for me.
